Our Story begins in 1890…
The Quigley family have been baking bread since 1890. First Michael Quigley, then his son Tim, followed by his son Martin, carried on the proud tradition with a commitment to quality and a passion for the craft.
Martin’s daughter Eileen took over the business in 1965. At a time when women were not to the forefront of business, she took up the challenge with a hunger to learn and a passion to succeed.
Eileen’s son John took over in 1985, together with his wife Margaret. At this time Quigleys had grown to four people: 2 bakers, 1 van-man and a shop-girl.
Today there are 16 Quigleys Cafés around Ireland, employing upward of 180 people, with all our produce still being made fresh each morning in our own kitchens in Nenagh. Michael Quigley would have been proud.
